Eureka, Nevada Homes

Nothing much is open in Eureka, Nevada, on a Sunday morning before the tourist season begins, but besides finding the gas station we needed we had a wonderful time driving around taking photos of old buildings.

The most fascinating seems to have been built against a cliff, perhaps with the cliff forming the back wall.  It was not, for us, accessible, and probably not safe for trespassing to investigate further.

Maybe the extension against the natural rock wall was a back porch? Could the unroofed extension have been an added bedroom, or perhaps a kitchen?

The opening, with neatly framed doorway, to the right of the above home might have been a root cellar or a mine shaft… What questions we could have asked if a visitor center had been open!
