Flight over Nevada
For the first time in perhaps 20 years I left Skus at home for a conference, this time the Triennial meeting of Daughters of the King, a lay order of women from liturgical churches (primarily Episcopal, Roman Catholic, and Lutheran) founded over 100 years ago for prayer and service (Note that if you pray you may expect a call to service. It’s not an either/or.)

My flights between Oakland, California and Salt Lake City gave me a birds-eye view of mostly Nevada, much of which Skus and I have seen from highways. On the flight to Salt Lake City, I was fortunate to have as seatmate a man who takes that round trip on business weekly who gave me some information on what I was seeing. Then, on the way back, when I had located in the bottom of my carry-on the camera I thought I had left at home, I snapped 100 or so photos from the plane so Skus could try to correlate the air route with the highway map.
