Even the motel breakfast waffles are Texan. We stayed at a Hampton Inn, and don’t know whether these are typical of Texas motels and breakfast menus, or a Hampton special.
Our waffle iron is rectangular, but we never thought of calling our waffles “Wyoming” or “Colorado.” North Dakota and Kansas could be created with a smidgen of trimming, but many other states don’t look like efficient waffle designs.
Amazon used to carry a Texas waffle iron, and I did find a photo of it with the note:”Currently unavailable. We don’t know when or if this item will be back in stock.”
I can’t think of a better way to start a day of exploring whatever part of Texas you may have slept in.
Have you found Texas waffles in other chains or owner-operated breakfast places.
