I give up on keeping blogs in real-time order! So entries will bounce between the States including Alaska (we hope), and Canadian provinces, and I’ll add actual dates.
Between Grande Prairie, Alberta, and Dawson Creek, British Columbia, the “service engine soon” light came on. Servicing in Dawson Creek revealed a failing fuel pump. We won’t head for Skagway on a “might make it” basis. With finances and ferry schedules rearranged, we spent three nights at Pouce Coupe Camp near Dawson Creek. It’s in a hollow, somewhat protected from wind, priced to fit our budget. The hosts recommended Brown’s Chevrolet, Buick, and GMC for repairs, and their service has been 10 on a scale of 1-10. They completed the repair Saturday, September 15, in time for us to go on to Fort Nelson that afternoon, where we have to await bank transfers so we can buy gas to continue on. That hasn’t happened on Monday. We hope Tuesday… but have had a grand time here in Fort Nelson, including a private showing of an exceptional auto collection–more of that later!
